Change in Deadlines for Implementation of Cash Registers for Catering and Taxis

Bishkek, September 5, 2024 – The Cabinet of Ministers in Kyrgyzstan has recently made amendments to the rules regarding the use of cash registers. These changes involve the timeline for the implementation of cash registers for taxpayers, as reported by the Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the new resolution issued on August 23, 2024, taxpayers who transport passengers in light vehicles or conduct courier deliveries are now exempt from the mandatory use of cash registers until January 1, 2025. Similarly, entrepreneurs who sell goods or offer services online are granted an extension until November 1, 2024, before they are required to start using cash registers.

Additionally, the deadline for the implementation of functions for calculations on advances and loans within cash registers has been pushed back to January 1, 2025.

Furthermore, starting from September 14, 2024, certain groups of businesses that were previously not mandated to use cash registers are now obligated to do so. This includes canteens and buffets in educational institutions, as well as companies selling handicrafts and folk art products.

These changes aim to streamline tax compliance and improve transparency in financial transactions across various sectors in Kyrgyzstan. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
