Two Citizens of Chechnya Wanted by Uzbekistan for Assassination Attempt
Uzbekistan has enlisted the help of Interpol to put two citizens of Chechnya, Bislan Rasaev, 36, and Shamil Temirhanov, 31, on the international wanted list. They are suspected of being involved in the assassination attempt on Komil Allamjonov, the former head of the information policy department of the Presidential Administration, as reported by Vzglyad.uz.
According to the Investigative Committee of Uzbekistan, Rasaev and Temirhanov entered the country through different routes. One illegally crossed the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border, while the other used the official Dostlik checkpoint. Both individuals allegedly received instructions from those who ordered the murder and were promised $1.5 million for carrying out the hit on Allamjonov and Dmitry Li, the head of the National Agency for Prospective Projects (NAPP).
The charges against Rasaev and Temirhanov include illegal border crossing, smuggling, illegal possession and circulation of weapons, as well as failure to report a crime and its concealment. The investigation claims that the suspects had weapons intended for use in the assassination attempt and failed to report or prevent the crime.
The Uzbek authorities are actively seeking information on the whereabouts of these two individuals and are urging anyone with information on their location to come forward. The case continues to develop as investigators work to piece together the events leading up to the attempted assassination.
