Chemical sabotage suspected at Yalova treatment plant – Last minute breaking news
Foaming in the Green Gulf Water Union Treatment Plant in Yalova has caused concern among residents in the region. The foams surpassed the facility and spread to the outside areas. The reason for the foaming is not yet known, but the municipality issued a statement attributing the issue to a technical breakdown and announced that water cuts would be necessary throughout the city for a while.
Yalova Mayor Mehmet Gürel responded to allegations of sabotage, stating that the relevant units, including the Security Forces and Gendarmerie, are investigating the incident. Yalova Governorship has launched an investigation into the matter and detained 4 individuals, including former municipal employees. The suspects’ phones are being examined, and it is hoped that the reason for the foaming will be uncovered as a result of the investigation.
In a separate development, a FETÖ operation involving 11 detentions was carried out in 9 provinces based in Istanbul. This highlights the ongoing efforts to address various issues across different regions in Turkey.
