Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office Continues Investigation into Alleged Fake Diploma of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the alleged fake undergraduate diploma of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğlu. The investigation is ongoing, with the second article being sent to the Rectorate of Istanbul University.
The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has requested the university to expedite the procedures related to the investigation. The investigation was initiated following notices of Imamoglu’s fake diploma and a report submitted by the Council of Higher Education which confirmed the authenticity of the diploma.
As part of the investigation, Ekrem İmamoğlu provided a statement on 5 March. The investigation aims to determine the authenticity of the diploma and whether any official documents were forged in the process. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is committed to thoroughly investigating this matter and ensuring transparency in the process.
