Chimgan Welcomes New Tunnel for Easier Access
The first stage of the construction of a transportation interchange at the intersection of Yangi Uzbekiston Street and the 4R12 highway in Tashkent has been completed, as reported by the press service of the MIA Traffic Safety Department.
The newly opened tunnel is now available for vehicles heading towards the Chimgan Mountains and the Charvak reservoir in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region. The tunnel, located on highway 4R12, is accessible at the traffic light just 400 meters after New Tashkent.
In addition, an exit has been established on the 4R12 highway for traffic moving in the opposite direction towards Yangi Uzbekiston Street.
Heavy vehicles and vehicles transporting dangerous goods are prohibited from passing through the tunnel and must instead navigate through the intersection.
To regulate the traffic flow in the tunnel, a radar system with a speed limit of 60 km/h will be installed.
This new transportation infrastructure aims to improve traffic safety and efficiency in the area, providing a smoother journey for commuters and travelers alike.
