Azerbaijan’s President Aliyev Highlights China as Fourth Largest Trading Partner
In a recent exclusive interview with China’s Xinhua News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan highlighted the growing trade partnership between Azerbaijan and China. President Aliyev stated that China has now become the fourth largest trading partner for Azerbaijan, with its share in the country’s foreign trade reaching 7.9 percent. Additionally, China leads in imports, with its share amounting to 17.69 percent.
Despite the significant progress in trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, President Aliyev emphasized that there is still untapped potential for further growth. He mentioned the importance of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation as a crucial mechanism for deepening bilateral economic ties, identifying promising areas of cooperation, and strengthening them further through legal frameworks. The timely implementation of decisions made by the Commission was highlighted as key to the success of their joint efforts.
The remarks made by President Aliyev underscore the increasing importance of the trade relationship between Azerbaijan and China, and the potential for further growth and cooperation in the future.
