Chinese Company Eyes Investment in Hydropower Plant Construction
Kyrgyzstan and China National Electric Engineering Company (CNEEC) Discuss Construction of Hydropower Plant
On December 9th, 2023, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, met with the top management of China National Electric Engineering Company (CNEEC), including the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Wu Guisheng. The meeting focused on the construction of a hydropower plant, which has the potential to be a significant source of clean energy for the Republic.
Both parties expressed mutual interest in the project, highlighting its economic profitability and its contribution to the development of clean energy in the region. Wu Guisheng emphasized CNEEC’s readiness to make substantial investments in the construction of the hydropower plant, which not only benefits the energy sector in Kyrgyzstan but also has the potential to create jobs and promote the country’s social and economic development.
