
Chinese Company Set to Invest $550 Million in Relocating Railway from Bishkek

Bishkek Mayor Plans to Move Railway Out of City
In a recent meeting of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology, and Regional Development of the Parliament, Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev announced plans to relocate the railway out of the capital city.
The mayor explained that the China Road company has offered to finance the project in exchange for the land that will be vacated once the railway is moved. The estimated cost of the project is $550 million, with the land being valued at $450 million at market value.
Dzhunushaliev proposed that after the railway is relocated, a high-speed highway to Kant should be built in its place. This new infrastructure project aims to alleviate congestion on the streets of Bishkek.
