Bishkek – The Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan is set to undergo significant advancements in waste management, courtesy of a new initiative by a Chinese investor. According to the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the region, the Hunan Junxin Huanbao company will construct two waste incineration plants in Balykchy and Ak-Suu districts.
Governor Bakytbek Zhetigenov recently met with Hunan Junxin Huanbao’s head, Dai Daoguo, where they discussed a preliminary feasibility study for the project. Construction is slated to commence later this year, marking a proactive step toward addressing the region’s waste management challenges.
Following their discussions, a framework agreement was signed between the Issyk-Kul region authority and the Chinese firm. The agreement not only outlines the construction of the plants but also includes the provision of modern equipment and training for local specialists, aiming to enhance local capabilities.
Local authorities have expressed optimism that this investment will effectively tackle waste disposal issues, diminish environmental burdens, and ultimately improve the quality of life for residents in the area.
As Kyrgyzstan continues to seek sustainable solutions to its waste management concerns, the implementation of these incineration plants represents a significant move towards a cleaner and more efficient future.
