CHP Announces 125 Additional Candidates – Latest News from Turkey

CHP’s Party Assembly (PM) convened in 2 sessions under the chairmanship of Chairman Özgür Özel. At the meeting, the party’s candidates were determined in 125 more electoral regions, including 3 metropolitan areas. Among the decisions made, the change regarding the candidacy of Lütfü Savaş for Hatay Metropolitan Municipality was not brought to the agenda.

According to the written statement made by the party after the meeting, CHP nominated Veli Ağbaba for Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, Zekai Sana for Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, and Murat Molu for Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality.

In addition, CHP elected Şükrü Ciravoğlu as the candidate in Edirne Municipality, Abdurrahman Tutdere in Adıyaman Municipality, Dindar Gültekin in Kars Municipality, and Volkan Kaylan in Iğdır.

The party also announced its support for Mesut Kösedağı in Kadıköy district of Istanbul, Aykut Erdoğdu in Ümraniye, Orhan Çerkez in Çekmeköy, Utku Caner Çaykara in Avcılar, Ali Ercan Akpolat in Adalar, Ayşegül Özdemir Ovalıoğlu in Bakırköy, Alaattin Köseler in Beykoz, and Mustafa Oktay Aksu in Sarıyer. Tonguç Çoban in Kağıthane, Ali Gökmen in Esenyurt, and Onur Soytürk in Zeytinburnu were also selected as candidates.

Furthermore, Hüseyin Can Güner was announced as the candidate in Ankara’s Çankaya district, while Veysel Alkan, Can Kaderoğlu, and Filiz Geygel were nominated in Sincan, Çubuk, and Akyurt respectively.

Other candidates announced by CHP include Oya Tekin in Seyhan district of Adana, Emrah Kozay in Çukurova, Nurettin Tanış in Yüreğir, and Erdinç Altıok in Yumurtalık.

The party also revealed its candidates in various districts such as Balıkesir’s Altıeylül, Bandırma, Edremit, Havran, İvrindi, Karesi, Manyas, and Savaştepe. Additionally, candidates were nominated in Aydın’s Didim district, Germencik, Artvin’s Yusufeli district, Bursa’s Gemlik district, Mudanya, and Kestel.

Bülent Ecevit Atalay in Çanakkale’s Gökçeada district, Fuat Üstündağ in Denizli’s Babadağ district, Ali Altıner in Çardak, Kadir Tatık in Tavas, Bekir Uzun in Bolu’s Gerede district, Ertaş Çoban in Samsun’s Havza district, and Ahmet Sarıkurt and Cihan Deniz Akbaş in Tekirdağ’s Çorlu district and Divriği district of Sivas were also nominated.
