CHP Holds Extraordinary Meeting to Discuss Minimum Wage Increase

Following the announcement of the minimum wage for 2025 as 22 thousand 100 liras, the Central Executive Board of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) convened an extraordinary meeting to discuss the minimum wage agenda. The meeting was called upon by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who urged for a rally decision to be made.

CHP Deputy Chairman Gamze Taşçıer shared the details of the rally decision, stating, “We invite all those who do not support the unity of citizens to join us at Ankara Tandoğan Square at 13:00, along with Özgür Özel, and those who claim that we cannot find common ground to raise their voices.”

Simultaneously, while the General Assembly of the Parliament was in session, the CHP closed group gathered at the Headquarters to discuss the same agenda. CHP deputies did not take part in the General Assembly proceedings.

During the closed Group meeting, it was decided that MPs would be sent to the field to meet with minimum wage earners.

Following the Closed Group meeting, Özgür Özel visited Türk-İş and Hak-İş, as well as the Yenişehir Market in Ankara Sıhhiye to further discuss the minimum wage issue. The party is actively working towards finding solutions to support those affected by the minimum wage decision.
