CHP Party Assembly Meeting Concludes: MYK Given Authority for Pre-Election Decisions – Breaking News from Turkey

CHP Party Assembly led by President Ozgur Ozgur held a meeting at the party headquarters to discuss important agendas. The meeting, which lasted for about 5 hours, was closed to the press.

During the meeting, the topic of “Early Election” was discussed, focusing on the selection of the presidential candidate for the next general election. It was revealed that approximately 1.6 million party members will have a say in determining the candidate through a “Pre-Election” application process. Discussions revolved around the pre-election calendar, application criteria, and the process involved in selecting candidate candidates.

One of the key highlights of the meeting was the emphasis on conducting the pre-election process through the establishment of ballot boxes in provincial and district centers using sealed compasses. The Central Board of Directors was granted full authority to oversee this process.

Criteria for candidate candidates were also discussed, with requirements such as being within a certain age range, having been a party member for a specified period, collecting signatures from PM, deputies, or provincial presidencies, and engaging in propaganda activities.

Furthermore, CHP leader Ozgur Ozgur met with Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu and Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş to inform them about the discussions at the Party Assembly meeting.

In a separate meeting, the CHP Central Board of Directors convened to discuss the “Early Election” agenda and the pre-election application under the leadership of President Ozgur Ozgur. The meeting also addressed the initiation of an investigation by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the 38th Ordinary General Assembly of the party.
