Chui Regional Hospital Revamped as City Emergency Hospital

Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Health, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, recently paid a visit to the Chui Combined Regional Hospital to discuss plans for reorganizing the facility as part of the ongoing administrative-territorial reform in the country. The hospital, which currently serves as a regional facility, is set to be transformed into the “City Clinical Emergency Hospital No. 2” to cater to the eastern part of the city.

During his visit, Minister Beishenaliev highlighted the increasing demand for emergency medical services in the area and the need to expand the hospital’s capabilities. The Chui hospital currently boasts a range of departments including ENT, ophthalmology, cardiology, surgery, urology, and more, with a total of 350 beds, including a maternity ward.

As part of the upcoming reorganization, plans are underway to increase the number of beds by merging the gynecological and maternity departments, as well as relocating the children’s department. Additional measures include hiring more medical staff and equipping each department with an intensive care unit to ensure comprehensive emergency care.

The Ministry of Health has tasked the hospital management with assessing the requirements for the change in status and coordinating with relevant specialists to facilitate a smooth transition. This move comes as part of the larger administrative and territorial reform initiative being implemented in six regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as in Bishkek and Osh cities, aimed at optimizing administrative structures and improving service delivery.
