
Chust Court Chairman Investigated for Assaulting Assistant

The chairman of the criminal court in Chust district, Jahangir Yakubhojaev, is under investigation for assaulting his assistant, Shokhjakhon Yakhshiboev, resulting in facial injuries. The incident took place on January 18, 2025, in Yakubhojaev’s office.
Yakhshiboev sought medical attention at the Turakurgan district medical center, where the injuries were documented. The General Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed the incident and initiated a preliminary investigation by the Chust district prosecutor’s office.
Yakubhojaev could potentially face a fine under Part 2 of Article 52 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility for intentional infliction of minor bodily harm. The fine could be up to four times the base calculation unit, which amounts to 1.5 million UZS. Cases like these are typically handled by criminal courts under Article 245 of the same code.
It is important to note that a judge’s personal integrity is protected by law, and they cannot be held administratively accountable without the approval of the Qualification Collegium of Judges.
Jahangir Yakubhojaev was appointed as the chairman of the criminal court in Chust district in July 2023 for a five-year term. Prior to this position, he served as the chairman of the criminal court in Izboskan district.
The investigation into this incident will determine the appropriate course of action in accordance with the law.
