Citizen Scammed into Africa instead of USA by Fraudster in Jizzakh
The father of a victim recently appealed to the internal affairs bodies after his son was deceived and stranded on the African continent. In Jizzakh, a person who promised to send a citizen to the USA for a large sum of money but instead sent him to the Republic of South Africa has been arrested, as reported by the information service of the regional DIA.
The resident of Khayrabad mahalla in Jizzakh city, I.M., reported that a resident of Sharof Rashidov district, A.Ya., had promised to send his son M.T. to work in the USA after receiving $14,300, but had instead sent him to Africa. The father explained that his son was now in a difficult situation in Africa, and A.Ya. was demanding an additional $6,700 to rectify the situation.
Upon receiving this information, law enforcement took swift action and arrested A.Ya. who had already received $6,700 from I.M. A criminal case has been initiated and an investigation is currently underway.
This case serves as a stark reminder to always be cautious when dealing with promises of overseas opportunities and to verify the legitimacy of such offers before parting with large sums of money.
