City Hall Flooded: Chairman Reports Extensive Material Damage
The municipal building flooded; Mayor states material damage is significant
After a torrential warning from the General Directorate of Meteorology, the central Cukurova district experienced significant effects. Streets like Turgut Ozal Boulevard, Kurttepe Junction, Belediyesi Neighborhood Junction, and Teachers Boulevard were all flooded, impacting daily life in the area.
The downpour also caused water to flood the service building of Çukurova Municipality. Mayor Emrah Kozay shared images of the flooded municipality on official social media accounts, showcasing the basement completely underwater.
During an investigation into the incident, Mayor Kozay stated, “After the flood disaster that Cukurova residents experienced last night, unfortunately, this is the current situation of our municipality. The entire team is here, but the material damage is extensive, affecting both the municipality and the people of Cukurova. We will overcome this.”
The images of the flooded municipal building highlight the seriousness of the situation, with significant clean-up and repair operations expected in the coming days.
