Cleaning House: Judiciary Removing Judges Linked to Matraimov and Criminals
Bishkek – The judicial system in Kyrgyzstan is undergoing a cleansing process to remove judges with ties to criminal elements, including those associated with the notorious Matraimov family. Chairman of the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan, Zamirbek Bazarbekov, made this announcement during a recent press conference.
Bazarbekov stated that the government is taking action to combat corruption within the judiciary. “By decision of the Council of Judges, eight judges have been dismissed from their positions. It is unlikely that they will be reinstated,” he added.
