Woman Rescued after Falling into Canyon During Picnic
Şadiye Yağmur İnanç, a young woman who was enjoying a picnic with her friends at Şahinderesi Canyon in Altınoluk Mahallesi, experienced a terrifying accident when she fell from the rocks and broke her leg. Luckily, search and rescue teams from the Balıkesir Metropolitan Fire Brigade Department quickly responded to the incident.
Upon receiving the notice, the rescue teams promptly reached the scene and provided immediate medical assistance to İnanç. They carefully transported her on a stretcher through the challenging terrain of the canyon before transferring her to an ambulance. The rescue operation took approximately one hour, and İnanç was then taken to Edremit State Hospital for further treatment.
Medical professionals at the hospital confirmed that İnanç had suffered a broken leg and confirmed that her treatment is ongoing. Thankfully, she is now in stable condition and receiving the necessary care.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety guidelines and regulations when venturing into natural areas. The Balıkesir Commission on Combating Forest Fires has reportedly determined that İnanç and her friends trespassed into the forest, which is strictly prohibited. Consequently, legal action will be taken against them.
