The Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the completion of the active phase of the command and staff exercises with the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces Interaction-2024, special exercises Search-2024, and Echelon-2024.
During these exercises, military contingents from CSTO member states were deployed to a fictional scenario where a conditional enemy had seized control over part of the territory in the border area. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces, the enemy was defeated, and control over the state border was restored.
Key areas of focus during the exercises included conducting combat and special operations, landing tactical air assault forces, providing cover from enemy air strikes, and addressing consequences arising from combat operations. Emphasis was placed on the use of unmanned aircraft, counteraction to them, as well as the joint utilization of electronic warfare and fire destruction means.
The exercises at the Edelweiss training ground also involved the air defense forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Joint Air Defense System of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The final stage and closing ceremony of the exercises were attended by high-ranking military officials, including the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
Troops from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan participated in the exercises, involving a total of about 1,500 servicemen and up to 300 units of weapons, military equipment, and aviation. These exercises showcased the commitment of CSTO member states to ensure regional security and cooperation in addressing potential threats.
