Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality Takes the First Step to Overcome Sewage Problems
Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality has announced that they have taken the first step to solve the long-term sewage problem in the Yenikent region. The project aims to bring relief to the sewerage system in Gönyeli and Yenikent.
According to the municipality, the Gönyeli South Main Carrier Sewage Tender has been successfully concluded, marking an important milestone in the efforts to address the sewage problem in the area.
With the completion of the project, a significant portion of the Gönyeli South Main Carrier Sewerage line will be completed. Additionally, the pump stations in Yenikent, which have been causing constant problems, will no longer be in use once the second stage of the project is completed.
Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu emphasized that 2024 is the “project year” and that the Main Carrier Sewage Tender is a crucial step towards overcoming the pump station problem. The tender was awarded to Nazlı Kardeşler Construction Ltd., and the project is expected to be completed in 270 days, covering a total length of 2,593 meters with the use of Ø500 mm. pipes and 50 manholes.
The completion of this initiative will significantly improve the sewerage system in the region by transporting wastewater through main conveyor lines.
In his speech at the tender signing ceremony, Mayor Amcaoğlu expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Turkey Development and Economic Cooperation Office (BSEC) for their support in financing the project. Proclaiming 2023 as the recovery year and 2024 as the project year, he promised that many projects will be implemented to improve the city’s infrastructure.
The officials of the Nazlı Kardeşler Construction Company, who undertook the tender, expressed their pride in being involved in the project and their commitment to working for the betterment of Gönyeli.
The municipality’s efforts to address the sewage problem are a testament to their dedication to improving the quality of life for the residents. With the completion of the project, the region will see a significant improvement in its sewerage infrastructure, leading to a more prosperous and healthy environment for all.
