Truck with Construction Materials Catches Fire on Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart Highway
A truck carrying construction materials caught fire on the bypass road near Tokmak city today, as reported by a reader to 24.kg news agency. The incident took place on the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart highway, close to Hawaii recreation center.
The reader shared a video showing the truck parked on the side of the road with a strong fire in its back, which eventually spread to the surrounding trees. The Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report of the vehicle fire at 4:08 p.m. and dispatched a fire brigade to the scene.
Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. The Traffic Safety Department of Chui region revealed that inspectors driving along the highway spotted the burning Mercedes-Benz Atego and immediately stopped to assist in extinguishing the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
