Construction of Retail Complex Underway in Batken
A new municipal retail complex is currently under construction in Batken, as reported by the press service of the office of the Presidential Envoy to the region. The City Hall has allocated 15 hectares of land in the Chet-Bulak quarter for the construction of this facility, with a project cost of 250 million soms. The funds for this project are being sourced from the republican budget, with 500 million soms allocated to the Batken region under the law on the special status of the region.
Construction of the complex began in October 2023, with the foundation of block A already erected and installation work currently in progress. Additionally, preparations are also being made on site for the foundation of block B. The retail complex is set to be divided into three sectors.
Upon completion, the municipal trade market is expected to create job opportunities for 2,500 to 3,500 local residents. This project will not only provide economic benefits to the region but also contribute to local employment opportunities.
