Construction of Ring Railway Around Issyk-Kul Lake Planned to Begin in 5-6 Years
Plans are underway to build a ring railway around Issyk-Kul Lake within the next 5-6 years, as announced by Deputy Director of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu, Dastan Usubakunov. The feasibility study for the project is currently in development.
The railway project will connect various towns and villages around the lake, with the northern shore planned to have a railway from Balykchy to Tamchy and Cholpon-Ata, while the southern shore will have a railway from Balykchy to Bokonbaevo and Karakol.
