Road Collapse at Construction Site Raises Safety Concerns
An incident at a construction site on Asarcıklı Street in the district has raised safety concerns after a road collapsed during excavation work. The construction equipment operator was carrying out excavation work when the adjacent road collapsed due to the soil taken by the construction machine. The barriers surrounding the construction area also collapsed during the incident.
Police and municipal police teams quickly closed the damaged road to traffic to prevent any accidents. The security cameras at the site recorded the moment of the road collapse, capturing the urgency of the situation.
Ersel Bandırma, a local tradesman, expressed his concerns about the incident, noting that there have been minor road collapses at different points during construction in recent years. He mentioned that despite their applications to the municipality to take action on the issue, no precautions had been taken to prevent such incidents from occurring.
