CHP Faces Consultant Fight After Election
The CHP (Republican People’s Party) continues to experience turmoil following the recent election. Amidst ongoing discussions about change within the party, a new controversy has emerged regarding consultant appointments.
Allegedly, Gökşen Anıl Ulukuş, a member of the new team established by CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, was assigned a consultancy role. Ulukuş announced his new position on social media, stating, “With the appreciation and approval of Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, I have been appointed as the Advisor to the Chairman of the CHP.”
This announcement sparked a heated debate. The CHP administration, however, denied appointing Ulukuş as a consultant. They clarified, “The discussions about ‘advisor appointments’ do not reflect the truth. All the advisors appointed before June 4, 2023, have expired, and no new advisors have been appointed, except for Engin Özkoç, Hacer Foggo, and Özgür Yici.”
In response to this denial, Gökşen Anıl Ulukuş strongly criticized both the party and Kılıçdaroğlu. He stated, “You may not be able to withstand the pressure, but there is a method to everything. A discrediting attitude such as ‘it does not reflect the truth’ does not suit the CHP.”
This consultant fight further adds to the already unsettled situation in the CHP, as discussions about reform and change continue within the party. It remains to be seen how this controversy will impact the CHP’s internal dynamics and its efforts to move forward after the election.
