Continued search for missing climbers on Mount Everest

Another Tragedy Strikes as Two Climbers Go Missing on Everest

In the latest incident on Mount Everest, two Mongolian climbers have gone missing above 8,000m while attempting to summit the world’s highest peak. Usukhjargal Tsedendamba and Prevsuren Lkhagvajav were last heard from as they left Camp 4 at 7:30 pm on Sunday, with plans to reach the summit the following morning. The two climbers, who were not using supplementary oxygen or sherpa support, have not been heard from since.

Outfitted by 8K Expeditions, Tsedendamba and Lkhagvajav had hired only Base Camp services and some bottles of oxygen that they did not intend to use. A search team has been deployed to locate the missing climbers, but as of now, no clues have been found. Bad weather has temporarily suspended the search, but efforts will continue once conditions improve. The team is currently nearing 8,600m in their search for the climbers.

Adding to the heartbreak, five family members of the missing climbers have arrived in Nepal to await updates on the search and rescue operations. As the climbing season on Everest continues, authorities and fellow climbers are reminded of the dangers that come with attempting such a formidable challenge. Our thoughts are with Tsedendamba, Lkhagvajav, and their loved ones during this difficult time.
