Cooperation Needed for Kambarata HPP-1 Project

In a recent statement, Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank, emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation for the Kambarata HPP-1 project. Podguzov highlighted the need for discussions among Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan regarding the project.
The Eurasian Development Bank, in partnership with the World Bank, has expressed readiness to allocate funds from the Technical Assistance Fund to update the feasibility study of the Kambarata HPP-1 project. Podguzov mentioned that the proposal has been submitted to the Kyrgyzstan Cabinet of Ministers, and active dialogues are ongoing with the World Bank.
Podguzov expressed confidence in organizing the project in collaboration with the World Bank and participating in the syndicate that will finance the construction of Kambarata HPP-1 once the financing amount is determined.
Furthermore, Podguzov noted the constructive dialogue with the Kyrgyzstan government and highlighted the progress in organizing feasibility studies for the project. The Eurasian Development Bank is actively involved in financing projects in Kyrgyzstan, including the Kulanak hydropower station project.
Overall, Podguzov emphasized the commitment to facilitating the Kambarata HPP-1 project and expressed eagerness to collaborate with stakeholders for its successful implementation.
