Corruption Charges Filed Against Poverty Reduction and Employment Assistance Department Officials in Bekabad District
The head of the department and the chief accountant in Bekabad district have been caught stealing nearly 1 billion soums by manipulating official documents. According to reports, N.J., the head of the poverty alleviation and employment assistance department, and chief accountant E.U. worked together with the heads of three tailoring LLCs to falsify information about the delivery of household equipment to 116 citizens in the district between October and December 2023. This criminal act resulted in the embezzlement of 950 million 570 thousand soums.
Following investigations by the State Security Service for Tashkent region and the PGO Department, a criminal case has been initiated against the individuals involved under relevant articles of the Criminal Code. The collusion between officials and private entities for personal gain is a serious violation of the law, and those responsible will be held accountable for their actions.
