Among the notable Super League footballers who have won the European Championship are Toni Schumacher and Didier Six, who played for Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray respectively. Lars Olsen and Bent Christensen represented Trabzonspor and Genclerbirligi during their careers, winning the championship with Denmark in 1992.
Stefan Kuntz and Nicolas Anelka had successful stints with Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe, while Dani Güiza and Juan Mata showcased their talents at Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray. Alvaro Negredo and Eduardo Carvalho also had spells in Beşiktaş and Başakşehir respectively, representing Spain and Portugal in the European Championship.
