Counting down the days: BRTK prepares for Presidential campus opening
The Turkish TRNC Presidential Campus, a project that began construction three years ago and is scheduled to open in May, is nearing completion. The complex, located in the capital Nicosia, includes the Presidency, the Republican Assembly, the Prime Ministry, and the National Garden. The final touches on the construction were recently completed by the Dron team.
This Presidential Campus, considered a symbol of the TRNC, covers an area of 639,475 square meters. The National Garden within the complex features seating areas, a football field, a mosque, a tennis court, and a skateboard track. The architecture of the campus is similar to the Presidential Complex in Turkey.
The opening ceremony is expected to be attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and is set to take place in the first week of May. The move to the new campus will see the Presidency and the Republican Assembly relocating from their current buildings.
The historical building in Nicosia, currently used as a museum, will continue to serve in that capacity. The consolidation of state institutions into the new campus will allow for more efficiency in government operations and a centralized location for various agencies.
Overall, the Turkish TRNC Presidential Campus represents a significant investment in infrastructure and a modernization of government facilities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
