Court revokes Star Med clinic license after patient death during operation
Closing down Star Med clinic is the aftermath of a court decision issued on June 2nd by Zangiata interdistrict economic court regarding the violation of licensing requirements of the Ministry of Health by Omad plyus LLC. The court also annulled a license of the Star Med clinic, where blogger Farhod Mannopov had died during an operation. The Ministry of Health had filed a lawsuit against Omad plyus LLC with the Zangiata Interdistrict Economic Court on April 28 of this year. Violations of Appendix 27 of “Unified regulation on licensing certain types of activities through a special electronic system” requirements were mentioned in the application as the basis for cancellation of the license. During the provision of prompt medical assistance to the deceased patient, F. Mannopov, known as Mittivine, the doctors did not have the necessary qualification, primary records were not maintained properly, and periodic inspection of medical equipment was neglected. Therefore, the court decided to cancel the license according to the Article 33 of the “On licensing, permitting and notification procedures” law. The defendant’s lawyer had requested to suspend the proceedings in the court due to the completion of the criminal case against the clinic officials which were rejected. It is important to ensure the compliance of medical services with licensing requirements to protect public health and ensure the safety of medical practices.
