Customer complaints flood IT department: Billing issues and slow internet speeds – News Update

Complaints about billing and internet connection speed are on the rise, according to data from the Information Technologies and Communications Authority. The BTK Türkiye Electronic Communications Sector Market Data Report reveals that in the third quarter of 2024, a total of 51,973 complaints were lodged through the BTK Online Consumer Complaint System.

The report highlights that the majority of complaints regarding mobile phones pertain to billing, making up 35.7 percent of all grievances. Following billing, complaints about coverage and subscription transactions ranked high among consumer concerns. When it comes to internet service providers, the primary complaints revolved around connection and service quality.

Internet service providers attracted the most complaints, making up 48.3 percent of all grievances. Statistics show that 41 out of every 100 internet users are dissatisfied with the quality of their connection and service. Interestingly, satellite subscribers experienced the most problems with their subscription transactions.

As consumer complaints continue to mount, it is evident that issues surrounding billing and internet connection speed need to be addressed by service providers. The data underscores the importance of ensuring a seamless and reliable experience for customers in the digital age.
