The first of its kind digital innovative system for the treatment of cancer patients with point targeted irradiation will soon be installed in Almaty, marking a significant milestone for Central Asia. The Ministry of Health of the Republic has expressed that this new installation “opens up new prospects for the treatment of cancer patients,” as reported by sputnik.kz.

This advanced system is capable of providing highly accurate and individually tailored treatment for patients by tracking the patient’s breathing and automatically adjusting the direction of the beams in accordance with their breathing movements.

It is estimated that about 100 cancer patients receive treatment in the radiation therapy department of the Almaty Oncology Center on a daily basis. This new treatment method is vital for patients in the early stages of the disease, as well as for prolonging and improving the quality of life in the later stages of the disease.

In addition to the installation in Almaty, Kazakhstan is set to become the first country in Central Asia to offer proton therapy for cancer patients at the new National Scientific Oncology Center in Astana. The project has attracted leading international companies from Switzerland and the USA.

Furthermore, a mobile medical complex equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, including digital mammography equipment with tomosynthesis function, an expert-level ultrasound system, and a computed tomograph with high research accuracy, has been purchased for the Kyzylorda Cancer Center. This equipment, made in Japan, is being put into operation in Kazakhstan for the first time.

With these advancements in cancer treatment, Kazakhstan is making significant strides in improving healthcare and providing advanced medical services for its citizens. As the country continues to invest in cutting-edge technology and resources, it is expected that the quality of care for cancer patients will greatly improve.

It is clear that Kazakhstan is dedicated to enhancing its healthcare infrastructure and capabilities, ensuring that cancer patients in the region have access to the best possible treatments available.
