Damaging Winds Hit Bishkek: 4 High-Rise Building Roofs Damaged, 30 Trees Toppled
On August 10, 2024, in Bishkek, a strong wind caused significant damage to several buildings and vehicles in the area. According to reports from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the roofs of four high-rise buildings, one apartment building, and a chaikhana were all damaged.
In addition to the building damage, four cars were also affected, and 30 trees were knocked down as a result of the strong winds. Fortunately, no casualties were reported from the incident.
The wind was recorded to have gusts reaching up to 26 meters per second on August 9, causing havoc in the city.
