Deadline extended for Tashkent–Andijan toll road tender to May 21

The selection of the contractor for the future highway project in Uzbekistan is set to be finalized by April 2026. The Ministry of Transport has extended the deadline for applications to participate in the tender for the construction of the Tashkent–Andijan toll road.

The tender, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Committee for Highways, with the support of PwC, Arup and Partners, and CMS Cameron, began the process of receiving Requests for Qualification (RFQ) in January. The deadline for submitting RFQs has now been moved to May 21, with clarification requests accepted until May 5.

The selection process will consist of two stages, with companies first submitting their RFQs followed by technical and financial proposals for the project. The winning contractor is expected to be announced by April 2026.

Interested parties can reach out for further information to the Uzavtoyul email address or to the consultants. The Tashkent–Andijan toll road project, including a new tunnel through the Kamchik Pass, has been in discussion since 2019. The estimated toll for the future road is between $5 and $6.

The highway will be built over six years in three phases: Tashkent–Angren, Angren–Pap, and Pap–Andijan. The project’s cost was initially estimated at $4.65 billion, but a revised estimate in October set it at $4.28 billion.

Deputy Minister of Transport Jasurbek Choriev provided these details at TMIF-2024, highlighting the progress and developments in the construction of the Tashkent–Andijan highway.
