Deadly Passenger Bus Overturns in Bingöl: Multiple Fatalities and Injuries Reported – Breaking News
Five people lost their lives and 31 people were injured in a tragic accident that occurred on the Bingöl-Diyarbakır Highway in the Genç district of Turkey. The incident took place in the village of Doğanca, where a passenger bus belonging to a Mardin travel company lost control and overturned after slipping on ice in a sharp bend.
According to reports, the bus, with 44 people on board including the driver, assistant, assistant driver, and 41 passengers, was traveling from Şırnak to Erzurum when the driver lost control near the Selvi junction. As a result, the vehicle crashed, leading to the deaths of 4 individuals and injuries to 32 others.
Emergency services, including health, police, gendarmerie, AFAD, and UMKE teams, quickly responded to the scene to provide assistance. The injured were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, but unfortunately, one of the wounded passengers succumbed to their injuries despite medical interventions.
Bingöl Governor Ahmet Hamdi Usta visited the site of the accident to assess the situation and provide updates to the press. He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for a speedy recovery for those who were injured in the tragic incident.
In response to the accident, Cevdet Yılmaz, in a social media post, extended his heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and wished a prompt recovery for the wounded individuals.
