Bishkek – 17:27, 31 July 2024
The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) has taken action against corruption within the education system by detaining the dean of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University for accepting bribes. According to the SCNS press center, the dean of the humanitarian and pedagogical faculty at the university was found to be involved in systematic extortion during state exams.
This recent arrest comes after a deputy dean of the humanitarian and pedagogical faculty at the Osh Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University was detained earlier as part of a criminal case involving extortion. The SCNS has been cracking down on corruption within the education system, with both deans now in pretrial detention centers for their alleged crimes.
The SCNS is urging the public to report any instances of corruption and bribery within the education system to help combat this issue. It is important to hold those accountable who are involved in such illegal activities in order to maintain the integrity of the education system in Kyrgyzstan.
