December 26 Hearing: Will a Decision be Made in the Narin Güran Case? – Breaking News Update
The trial for the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran is reaching its conclusion as all eyes turn to December 26th for the second hearing. The young girl went missing in Tavşantepe Village in Diyarbakır Bağlar district on August 21, only to be found lifeless in a sack in the Sıratutmaz Creek on September 8.
Twelve suspects, including Narin’s mother Yüksel Güran, her older brother Enes Güran, her uncle Salim Güran, and their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, were arrested as part of the investigation initiated by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The prosecution has requested aggravated life imprisonment for the four main suspects for the crime of ‘intentional murder against the child in the event of participation’ in Narin’s murder. The first hearing, which lasted three years, took place on November 7 and was adjourned to December 26 for the collection of evidence and the presentation of the prosecutor’s opinion. The defendants will once again appear before the judge on December 26th for a decision to be made in this tragic case.
