Uzbekistan Sees Significant Drop in Passenger Car Imports in Early 2025
According to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the country imported 4,415 passenger cars worth $75.9 million in the first two months of 2025. This marks a significant decrease compared to the same period last year, where 17,553 cars were imported, totaling $383.1 million.
China remained the largest supplier of passenger cars to Uzbekistan, with 3,149 cars imported in the first two months of 2025. South Korea followed closely behind with 1,191 cars. Other countries that exported passenger cars to Uzbekistan during this period were Japan, Germany, the United States, and Mexico.
A notable decrease was seen in car imports from the United States, with only 8 units imported in January-February 2025 compared to 455 units in the same period in 2024.
The sharp decline in passenger car imports in early 2025 reflects changing trends in the automotive market in Uzbekistan. It will be interesting to see how the import numbers evolve throughout the rest of the year.
