Defendant Accused of Leading Scrap Dealing Operation
A Major Drug Bust in Zonguldak
Last year, an extensive anti-narcotics operation took place in Zonguldak, targeting drug dealers across 4 districts. This operation, which came after 7 months of technical and physical follow-up, resulted in the arrest of Emircan İleri, who was allegedly the leader of the drug dealing organization, along with 16 other suspected members. Meanwhile, another 16 individuals were released on judicial control, and the number of detained defendants has risen to 17.
Interestingly, one of the defendants claimed that the ‘Bitter Gang’ was a name given to them by the state and denied the existence of such an organization. Another defendant alleged that he was threatened and physically attacked, adding more intrigue to the case.
Emircan İleri, who testified through SEGBİS, vehemently denied all accusations, claiming to be a scrap dealer and not involved in drug dealing. In his defense, he also pointed out the inconsistency in the accusations and questioned the reliability of the witnesses.
As the trial carries on, more details are expected to emerge, shedding further light on this complex and extensive drug bust in Zonguldak.
