Deluge in Rize: Streets Flooded, Citizens Help Rescue Trapped Cars
The heavy rainfall in the district of Rize caused chaos and inconvenience for residents on Tuesday night. Streets and avenues were flooded, turning into lakes in some areas, while houses and workplaces were also affected by the downpour.
Drivers navigating the Black Sea Coastal Road encountered challenges as puddles formed and the road transformed into a temporary lake at certain points. One particular incident at the Fırtına Bridge Junction saw a car stuck in a pool of water on the highway, unable to move forward. Fortunately, other drivers passing by came to the rescue and pushed the stranded vehicle out of the water.
Authorities from the municipality, Highways, DSI, and the fire department were quick to respond to the flooding, working to clear clogged drains and drain the water accumulated on the roads. Their efforts helped mitigate the impact of the downpour on the daily lives of residents.
As weather conditions continue to be unpredictable, residents are reminded to exercise caution while commuting and to be prepared for any sudden changes in the forecast.
