DEM Party Delegation Continues Contacts with İmralı Prisoners
The DEM Party delegation’s contact with İmralı prisoners continues as they recently visited former HDP Co-Chairman Figen Yüksekdağ at Kocaeli Kandıra Prison. The delegation, including DEM Party MPs Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Pervin Buldan, and Ahmet Türk, who previously visited İmralı, met with Yüksekdağ and later issued a statement.
Sırrı Süreyya Önder emphasized their commitment to peace and dispelled speculations about dividing the country or having a double agenda. He stated, “What we are trying to establish is peace.”
The delegation, after meeting with former HDP Co-Chairman Selahattin Demirtaş and various political party groups in the parliament, is expected to make a comprehensive statement soon. Following this statement, a second visit to İmralı is on the delegation’s agenda, pending approval from the Ministry of Justice.
