DEM Party Announces Istanbul Candidates – Latest News from Turkey
The preparations of political parties for local elections are well underway, and the Democratic Regions Party (DEM) has announced its candidates for the upcoming Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality election.
After Başak Demirtaş, the wife of HDP’s former co-chairman Selahattin Demirtaş, declared that she would not run for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor from the DEM Party, the party revealed their chosen candidates for Istanbul. Meral Danış Beştaş and Murat Çepni will be representing the party in the Istanbul race.
