DEM Party İmralı Delegation Visits Kandıra Prison to Meet with Figen Yüksekdağ
The DEM Party İmralı delegation continues its visits with a stop at Kandıra Prison in Kocaeli. The delegation, which met with Selahattin Demirtaş in Edirne Prison yesterday, will now meet with Figen Yüksekdağ. The visit is scheduled for 13.00 today.
After their meeting with Figen Yüksekdağ, the delegation plans to hold a press release in Ankara next week to inform the public about the ongoing process. Additionally, another visit to İmralı Island is on the agenda, where they will meet with Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization. All eyes will be on Öcalan’s response following this visit.
During their visit to Edirne Prison, the DEM Party delegation, consisting of Pervin Buldan, Ahmet Türk, and Sırrı Süreyya Önder, had a successful meeting with Selahattin Demirtaş. They expressed their support for the ongoing democratization process and emphasized the importance of staying away from threats and provocative rhetoric.
Ahmet Türk highlighted the goal of embracing the historical friendship between the two peoples, while Pervin Buldan thanked both Demirtaş and Mızraklı for their cooperation. Selahattin Demirtaş, in a statement on social media, emphasized the need for transparency and called for concrete steps towards a permanent end to violence.
The DEM Party delegation is expected to make a comprehensive statement about the process after completing their visit tour to various political parties. Their aim is to strengthen the ground for peace and encourage all parties to engage in a peaceful, civil, and political struggle.
The ongoing process, initiated after a call from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, aims to lift the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan and establish a peaceful resolution. The DEM Party’s efforts to facilitate dialogue and promote peace are crucial steps towards achieving a lasting solution to the conflict.
