In a recent statement from the DEM Party delegation, it has been reported that all parties involved express a desire to move past the tense process that has been lingering. The delegation reveals that following a meeting with Abdullah Öcalan on December 28, 2024, they engaged in a series of discussions with various political parties and politicians, both within and outside of prison.
Starting on January 3, the delegation met with key figures such as Numan Kurtulmuş, as well as representatives from the Nationalist Movement Party, Future Party, Justice and Development Party, Felicity Party, Republican People’s Party, Deva Party, and Re-Welfare Party. In addition, meetings were held with former co-chairs and imprisoned politician friends Figen Yüksekdağ, Selahattin Demirtaş, Leyla Güven, and Selçuk Mızraklı on January 11-12.
The main objective of these meetings was to share the outcomes of the discussion with Öcalan and assess the new situation that has arisen. Key topics included finding a permanent solution to the Kurdish problem, strengthening Turkish-Kurdish brotherhood, addressing developments in the Middle East, and promoting democratic politics as a means to resolve conflicts.
