Dense Fog Causes Chain Accident in Sakarya
**Tragic Multiple Vehicle Accident on Northern Marmara Highway**
A devastating chain accident occurred on the Northern Marmara Highway in the Istanbul direction, resulting in the loss of 11 lives and leaving 57 individuals injured, 7 of them in serious condition. The accident occurred in the Dağdibi area due to dense fog, involving 7 vehicles, including 3 buses and a truck.
Sakarya Governor Yaşar Karadeniz confirmed the tragic news and informed the public about the unfortunate incident. He also stated that the injured individuals have been transferred to hospitals for treatment and that the Istanbul direction has been temporarily closed to traffic as a result of the accident.
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured individuals. He also announced that an investigation into the accident has been initiated by the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office with three public prosecutors being assigned to the case under the coordination of a deputy chief public prosecutor.
