Kyrgyzstan Parliament expresses solidarity with Palestine
Bishkek, 14 November 2023 – The Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, Nurlanbek Shakiyev, recently met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine to Kyrgyzstan, Javad Awad, to discuss the current situation in Palestine. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the ongoing conflict and express support for the people of Palestine.
During the meeting, the Speaker expressed his concern for the tragic events taking place in the Gaza Strip and extended his deepest condolences to the families and all Palestinians who have been affected by the conflict. He assured that Kyrgyzstan was closely following the situation and hoped for a swift end to the tragedy.
Shakiyev also highlighted the recent participation of President Sadyr Japarov in the VIII Islamic Summit in Riyadh, where he called on the international community to ensure unhindered access of humanitarian aid to the citizens of the Gaza Strip. Additionally, he mentioned that a decision was made to transfer one-day salaries of deputies of the Parliament as assistance to the Palestinian people, and humanitarian aid will also be sent on behalf of the head of the state.
Ambassador Javad Awad emphasized that the violence and tragedies in Palestine have been ongoing for 75 years, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives and injuries, with a significant portion of them being children. He expressed gratitude to the President of Kyrgyzstan, the Parliament, and the public for their support during these tragic days for the Palestinian people.
The Ambassador urged the international community to take action to stop the Israeli occupation and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Palestine, emphasizing the continued obstruction and destruction of hospitals.
The meeting between the Kyrgyzstan Parliament and the Palestinian Ambassador serves as a testament to the solidarity and support for Palestine and the hope for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Both parties called on the international community to step in and bring an end to the ongoing tragedy in Palestine.
