Deputy Chief of Kungrad District Police Department Arrested for Alleged Extortion
A police officer in Karakalpakstan was caught demanding an iPhone 15 Pro Max from a citizen in exchange for not disclosing personal information. The officer, identified as a major and deputy head of the Kungrad district police department, used his official powers to threaten the victim.
The incident came to light when the victim reported the officer to the State Security Service of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In a swift operation by the security service, the officer was apprehended while receiving the expensive phone from the citizen.
As a result, a criminal case has been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and a preliminary investigation is currently ongoing.
