Dr. Mehmet Çakıcı, the Chief Physician at Pink Pavilion Psychiatry Hospital, highlighted the importance of the ongoing battle against drug addiction. He mentioned that the hospital has been at the forefront of addiction treatment since 1996, with the first training program on the subject starting in 2000.

Prime Minister Üsel and Health Minister Dinçyürek have been actively working on combating the drug problem in the country, taking significant steps towards prevention and treatment. They have emphasized the importance of raising awareness and providing support to those struggling with addiction.

Pink Pavilion Psychiatry Hospital currently has a capacity of 24 beds and is the largest addiction treatment center in Turkey. In addition, plans are underway to establish a 16-bed Amatem center at the Peace Mental and Neurological Diseases Hospital.

Health Minister Dinçyürek revealed that the government has allocated resources for the completion of the Amatem building in the 2025 budget. He stressed the importance of implementing short, medium, and long-term plans to combat drug addiction effectively.

Prime Minister Üsel commended the efforts of Pink Pavilion Psychiatry Hospital in treating addiction not only in North Cyprus but also in other countries. He reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding healthcare services and combating addiction on a national level.
