DEVA Party Balıkesir Deputy Burak Dalgın Resigns from Party
DEVA Party Balıkesir Deputy Burak Dalgın has announced his resignation from the party. Dalgın took to social media to share his decision with the public.
In his statement, Dalgın mentioned that he had voiced his concerns and suggestions regarding the party on multiple occasions in the past. He expressed disappointment that the radical change that the nation had called for, through both poll statements and votes in the 2023 and 2024 elections, had not materialized. Dalgın emphasized that continuing with the same strategies would not lead to different outcomes.
Highlighting the risks of complex mechanisms being perceived as political engineering and how this could erode identity and limit outreach, Dalgın stated his commitment to working with renewed enthusiasm. He stressed the importance of Turkey surpassing mediocrity, seizing opportunities, and competing globally across various fields.
Following Dalgın’s resignation, the DEVA Party’s representation in Parliament has decreased to 11 seats.
Who is Burak Dalgın?
Born in 1978 in Bursa, Balıkesir Deputy Burak Dalgın is a graduate of Boğaziçi University in Mechanical Engineering. He furthered his education by obtaining a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
Dalgın has served on the boards of several companies and nonprofit organizations in Turkey and Europe. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Democracy and Progress Party.
Burak Dalgın is married and has one child.
